Zhenghe Old Tree - Sometimes when you drink tea, you only taste sweetness, in other occasions you wonder if the tea leaf is actually processed by a tea master. When the leaf and the tree are slightly older, something amazing can happen: you experience everything at once. You taste the tea, you feel great, you taste that the leaves are older, you taste that the tree is older and you taste that the environment is completely natural.
All of this is the Zhenghe Old Tree black tea. Not for new tea drinkers, but for tea lovers who are ready for the next level of natural tea.
Order your tea when it's fresh. Green tea, white tea, black tea and yellow tea re picked in spring, when you order in April/May you'll have the fresh tea. We'll write down in the details in which year and at what time the tea was harvested. Light oolongs and Dancong oolongs will be available at the start of May and Wuyi Oolongs around July. If you buy Puehr tea, then buy aged puerh teas or fresh puerh with suitable for drinking directly.
If you're not familiar with natural teas, then we suggest you to order a number of varieties first. However, when you have some favorites, then we suggest you to buy the amount for a whole year. If you're not a very heavy tea drinker, then around 250gram of tea of 2 or 3 teas will be enough for a whole year. If you order for at least 100usd, we can ship by express, which will be fast. Fresh tea is the best, therefore we recommend to order at least 100usd per time.
When you make a purchase on Teazaar, the tea will be shipped from the tea farm. Most of the tea shipments will go through our Xiamen or Hong Kong office, but big shipments will go directly to you. Wherever you are in the world.
Our shipping costs are 20usd (or equivalent in other currencies) per order. All flat rate. All products are shipped from tea growers in Asia, therefore we suggest you buy a number of teas or a slightly bigger volume per time.
Shipments can be traced and take between 5 to 15 days till they arrive. We will send you an invoice and the price will also be written on the package. If your country requires import fees or other taxes, then you're responsible for this.

Zhenghe is a northern Fujian tea area, not far from Wuyishan A semi-wild tea variety called Xiaocaicha, a small leaf cultivar, grows in a number of valleys in the area.The soil on the mountain slopes is yellow, changing into red or black in the valleys. The annual rainfall is between 1,609 and 1,926mm, the average temperature between 14.7 and 18.2°C. The main river nearby is called the Song river and the surrounding forests are mainly broadleaf. The pH-value of the tea area is between 5.05 and 6.9.
Tea Master Wang is a tea master without his own tea farm. As a Zhenghe local tea expert, he knowns exactly the places where the best and most natural tea grow. When it is harvest season, he buys the fresh leaves from the local villagers, and processes them into Zhenghe's best black and white teas. Tea Master Wang specializes in Zhenghe Kungfu black tea from the Xiaocaicha cultivar and the Zhenghe Silver Needle and Zhenghe White Peony from the local semi-wild Zhenghe Dabaicha cultivar. Tea Master Wang is only in his thirties but, widely regarded as one of Zhenghe's best tea masters. Very talented and always eager to tell stories about great natural teas.
Kungfu (Gongfu) means disciplined skill. A disciplined skill is something you can only achieve by practice; by developing a feeling for what you're doing. Nobody can tell you how to do this. You can however, study it from a book. Let us give you some basic guide lines to start with:
- Have fresh, living water ready with a temperature of around 90°C (194 Fahrenheit)
- Have a Gaiwan, a server and a number of small cups ready, pre-heat all of them with hot water
- Prepare the amount of around 5 grams tea leaves (never measure them with a scale, that wouldn't be Kungfu)
