Harvest time:

Order your tea when it's fresh. Green tea, white tea, black tea and yellow tea re picked in spring, when you order in April/May you'll have the fresh tea. We'll write down in the details in which year and at what time the tea was harvested. Light oolongs and Dancong oolongs will be available at the start of May and Wuyi Oolongs around July. If you buy Puehr tea, then buy aged puerh teas or fresh puerh with suitable for drinking directly.

Amount:

If you're not familiar with natural teas, then we suggest you to order a number of varieties first. However, when you have some favorites, then we suggest you to buy the amount for a whole year. If you're not a very heavy tea drinker, then around 250gram of tea of 2 or 3 teas will be enough for a whole year. If you order for at least 100usd, we can ship by express, which will be fast. Fresh tea is the best, therefore we recommend to order at least 100usd per time.

Shipping

When you make a purchase on Teazaar, the tea will be shipped from the tea farm. Most of the tea shipments will go through our Xiamen or Hong Kong office, but big shipments will go directly to you. Wherever you are in the world.

Our shipping costs are 20usd (or equivalent in other currencies) per order. All flat rate. All products are shipped from tea growers in Asia, therefore we suggest you buy a number of teas or a slightly bigger volume per time.

Shipments can be traced and take between 5 to 15 days till they arrive. We will send you an invoice and the price will also be written on the package. If your country requires import fees or other taxes, then you're responsible for this.

Once shipped, we will send you an email or sms with the tracking code.

Tea Master Lin

Anxi is a small county, part of Quanzhou city and not far from both Xiamen and Fuzhou, in Fujian province. The soil type is a combination of red-yellow soil with stones, depending on the elevation. The pH-value is between 4.5 and 5.6. The annual rainfall is 1,700-1,900mm and the temperature range between 15-18℃. The main tree types are mason pine, cypress, and camphor trees with a combination of pine and broadleaf trees. The planted tea tree is a Red Bud Tieguanyin cultivar, perfectly suitable for the local climate conditions.

Our farm size is 60mu (4 hectares), planted on an altitude of 500 meters in Jiandou village. We follow the natural farming method, no chemicals and no tilling of the soil. Weeds are removed before harvest and left to decay on the soil.

Manufacturing process Our Tieguanyin is hand-processed following the traditional way: four times tumbling and medium oxidation. The tea aroma is light and pure, the mellow aftertaste long-lasting.

Local Terroir

My name is Lin and I process all the tea myself. I am one of the first tea masters in Anxi following the natural farming principles growing my Tieguanyin tea. I am an oolong tea master, specializing in Tieguanyin oolong tea. The processing method of this light roasted Tieguanyin: cooling, sunshine withering, cooling again, making green (shaking green and standing), frying, rolling, baking, shaping, baking and selecting.

Anxi is a small town located in Fujian province. Tieguanyin is an Oolong tea, from a tea tree variety called Tieguanyin. At the moment, there are no other places where Tieguanyin thrives like they do in Anxi. They are particularly adjusted to the local yellow soil, high mountain areas and pine & broadleaf forest. Orchid Tieguanyin Tea Orchid Tieguanyin tea belongs to the popular light-oxidized tea, "clear, bright and little green soup ", the well-known representative of the Fen-Flavour Tieguanyin tea. The characteristic of Orchid Tieguanyin tea: its shape is round, fat, and heavy. The dry tea color is green, uniform. The fragrance is high and long-lasting , fresh and smooth taste shows you the obvious "Tieguanyin rhyme."The soup color is gold yellow, clear and bright, Tea leaves after brewing are thick, soft and smooth, with an aftertaste. Raw material The standard of picking fresh leaves must be two or three leaves after the parietal leaves are opening. To achieve the 'five forbidden' rules; do not break the leaf, do not fold leaf sheet, do not hurt the leaves' tip, do not take a single leaf, without old tea leaves. Manufacturing process Our Tieguanyin is hand-processed following the traditional way: four times tumbling, and medium oxidation. The tea aroma is light and pure, the mellow aftertaste long-lasting. Tiansheng Tieguanyin Tea Our Orchid Tieguanyin Oolong tea grows in a completely natural way. This was not easy - without the use of pesticides and fertilizers, tea leaves were eaten by pests; without fertilizers, tea leaves didn’t grow so well… But now, after all these years, there is not much managing I need to do: nature takes care of my tea garden.

Mr. Lin and his wife harvest and process all tea themselves. During harvest season, they pick the leaves in the morning and process them in the afternoon.

How to enjoy Tiegyuanyin Tea

In our opinion, you can fully appreciate the natural flavors and fragrances of a Tieguanyin tea with or without a gaiwan. If you decide on using a gaiwan, it needs to be made out of good quality porcelain to have the best Tieguanyin experience ever!

More Information

Once you finished steeping the tea, turn around the gaiwan and inspect the leaves on the inside. They should have slightly red edges and green/yellow on the inside. Clean and shiny, but will never look perfect
